The Road Ahead
From new college to British Islamic university
We are at the beginning of a long road, and we walk it openly. These are the stages ahead of us — and we will announce each one only when it has truly been achieved, never before.
01TodayWe are here
A founded, active college
Established in Leicester in 2025 and registered on the UK Register of Learning Providers — UKPRN 10101281. Short courses in Qur'an, Arabic and the Islamic sciences are running now — alongside national programmes such as the National Qur'an Competition.
02Next
Regulated qualifications
Approval as a centre with recognised, Ofqual-regulated awarding organisations — so that our courses lead to nationally regulated qualifications.
03Ahead
Accreditation & university validation
Independent accreditation of the college, and a validation partnership with a UK university — the gateway to our first validated BA and MA degrees in the Islamic sciences.
04Ahead
Registration with the Office for Students
Registration with the OfS, the regulator of higher education in England — placing IIC on the official register of English higher education providers.
05The Vision
Degree Awarding Powers — a university
Our own degrees, awarded in our own name: a fully-fledged British Islamic university, God willing — serving students across the UK and far beyond.
We publish our progress openly, and we will never claim a stage before it is reached.
Four Institutes, One College
A complete classical curriculum
Every student's journey at IIC runs through four interconnected institutes — each one a discipline in its own right, together forming a complete, traditional Islamic education.

Study Anywhere
A secure online learning portal delivers live classes, recordings, assessments, and e-library access to students across the world.
Character Formation
Beyond the curriculum, we cultivate adab, leadership, and service — preparing graduates to contribute meaningfully to their communities.
The IIC Bookshop
A bookshop where every purchase gives back
Visit the Leicester Islamic Bookshop at 19 Church Street, Oadby — or browse online from anywhere. Carefully chosen works across Qur’an, tafsīr, hadith, fiqh, Arabic and children’s titles.
100% of all proceeds go to charity to further the IIC project.

The National Qur'an Competition
The UK's first national Qur'an memorisation competition — finals broadcast nationally, 1–2 August 2026 at Masjid Taqwa Hall, Leicester.
Qur'an Halaqah Camp
Over the Grand Final weekend — 31 July to 3 August 2026 — Masjid al-Furqan became home to a free residential Qur'an camp: twelve guests from seven cities, with halaqāt after Fajr & Maghrib that many more local worshippers joined.
