Camp
Over the Grand Final weekend of The National Qur'an Competition, Masjid al-Furqan opened its doors and became a home: a free residential camp where guests slept at the masjid, ate breakfast together, sat in Qur'an halaqāt after Fajr and after Maghrib, and walked into the finals in between. This page is the record of what took place, alhamdulillah.

Twelve guests made the masjid their home for the weekend, travelling from Leicester, Loughborough, Luton, Walsall, Birmingham, London and Wrexham. And the halaqāt were never only theirs — they were open to the masjid, and many more local worshippers joined them through the weekend.

Friday — arrival
The camp opened from Maghrib on Friday 31 July. Guests settled in with their sleeping bags, prayed, and sat in the opening halaqah of the weekend.
Halaqāt after Fajr & Maghrib
Every day of the camp, Qur'an circles ran after Fajr and after Maghrib — led and delivered by Al-Maqari Al-Qur'aniyyah UK, and open to everyone in the masjid, resident or local.
The finals in between
Between the halaqāt, guests took their reserved seats at the Grand Final of The National Qur'an Competition at Masjid Taqwa Hall — eighteen seats held across the two days.
Monday — departure
After a final breakfast, guests departed by midday on Monday 3 August — closing the first residential camp the College has hosted.

The International Islamic College extends its huge and heartfelt thanks to Al-Maqari Al-Qur'aniyyah UK, who delivered the camp from beginning to end — the halaqāt after Fajr and Maghrib, the teaching, and the care of every guest. The knowledge sat in those circles was theirs to give, and they gave it generously. May Allah reward them abundantly.
And to our host, Masjid al-Furqan on Kamloops Crescent — who opened their doors, their washrooms and their kitchen to guests from across the country for four days — jazāhum Allāhu khayran.
