Institute of Traditional Mutoon & Ijaazaat
Classical Texts & Certification
Direct study and certification (ijaazah) in foundational classical texts (mutoon) across the sciences, preserving the scholarly chain of transmission from teacher to student.
A matn is a short text written to be memorised — compressed deliberately, so that a scholar's whole framework in a subject can be carried in the chest and unpacked later with a commentary. Studying one is not the same as reading a book about the subject; it is acquiring the scaffolding everything else in that science hangs on.
An ijāzah in a text records that a named teacher heard you recite it and permits you to transmit it onward, naming the chain by which it reached them. It is a record of transmission, not a qualification, and this College does not present it as one.
No course of this institute is open at present. The method is already running inside the Foundation Diploma, where the Forty Ḥadīth of an-Nawawī are memorised in full and heard back by tasmīʿ across the year, alongside the creed texts and their proofs. That is where a student who wants this work should begin.
