Institute of Qur'an
The Qur'anic sciences, taught as they were received — by qualified teachers holding traditional, unbroken chains of transmission.
Reading the Qur'an correctly and reciting it with an ijāzah are two different achievements, and most people who finished madrasah have the first without ever being offered the second. This institute exists for the second.
The work is ḥifẓ, tajwīd corrected under a teacher's ear rather than from a book, and eventually the qirāʾāt — the canonical readings, studied with their chains. It asks for daily practice, not weekly attendance, and it is measured by what you can recite from memory to someone qualified to correct you.
The institute's first course, the Ijāzah Programme in Qur'anic Recitation, has been announced and is not yet open for enrolment: fifteen to twenty places, reciting the whole Qur'an from memory to a senior muqriʾ. Register your interest to hear when it opens. In the meantime, every session of the Foundation Diploma opens with ten minutes of tasmīʿ, so memorisation is heard back weekly rather than left to the student alone.
