1. Purpose

This policy states every charge a student can meet on the Programme, how fees are paid, and when and how money is refunded. It is written to meet the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024, and is read with the Terms and Conditions of Enrolment, which form the contract.

2. Scope

This policy applies to every applicant and enrolled student of the 2026–27 Programme, to the parents and guardians who pay for students under 18, and to everyone at the College who sets, collects or refunds fees. If this policy and the Terms and Conditions of Enrolment ever diverge, the reading more favourable to the student applies.

3. The fees

Wherever the Programme's price appears — in this policy, on the website, in a conversation — tuition and the examination fee are given together, with the monthly figure: £40 a month for the eleven months September 2026 to July 2027 — £440 tuition — and the £50 examination fee: £490 for the year including the Diploma examination, plus books.

ItemAmountNotes
Application and the entry conversationFreeThere is no application, enrolment or registration fee at any stage.
Tuition£40 a month — £440 for the yearEleven monthly payments, September 2026 to July 2027 inclusive. The only compulsory charge. Every student pays the same. There is no deposit.
End-of-year examination fee£50Paid in the summer term when the student enters the summer examination series — the third-term papers and the Arabic Level 1 written and oral examinations. Entering is optional, but the Diploma is awarded only to students who sit and pass the series; a student who does not enter receives a transcript of the year's study and marks, not the Diploma. Refunded in full if the student withdraws before sitting, or if the College cancels the sitting. See 3.2.
Total for the year including the Diploma examination£490Tuition £440 plus the £50 examination fee. No other charge of any kind apart from the class book bundle below.
Class book bundleAt cost — price TBCTBC — announced before the Programme startsCharged separately, with no mark-up. See 3.1.

3.1 Books

The class book bundle is bought in bulk and passed on at cost: the College adds nothing to the price. The exact figure depends on the supplier's stock and is TBCTBC — announced before the Programme starts. The titles are listed in the Syllabus (§12), and a student who prefers to buy the books independently may do so.

3.2 The end-of-year examination fee

Entering the summer examination series is the student's choice, made in the summer term; the £50 fee is paid then, on entry, and never earlier. The Diploma is awarded only to students who sit and pass the series (Assessment and Award Regulations). A student who chooses not to enter pays nothing and receives, without charge, a transcript of the year's study and marks — not the Diploma. The fee is refunded in full if the student withdraws before sitting, or if the College cancels the sitting.

4. How to pay

Payment method: TBCTBC — bank standing order expected; the College never takes card details by phone. Full payment instructions are given at enrolment, and every payment is receipted or confirmed. Paying monthly is the normal route; a student who wishes to pay several months at once may, and those payments are protected by sections 6 and 7 below.

5. The 14-day cooling-off period

A student may cancel within 14 days beginning the day after the contract is made (the day the College confirms the student's place in writing and the Terms and Conditions are signed), without giving any reason, and receive a full refund of everything paid, within 14 days of telling the College. One qualification, and it rests on the student's own express written request: where the student expressly asked in writing, when enrolling, for teaching to begin within the cooling-off period and then cancels, a fair proportionate charge for the teaching already delivered applies, and everything else is refunded. How to cancel, and the model cancellation form, are in the Terms and Conditions of Enrolment.

6. Withdrawing after the cooling-off period

There is no notice period and no exit charge. A student may withdraw at any time by writing to info@theiic.uk (a conversation first is always welcome, on 07436 436363). Withdrawal takes effect at the end of the month in progress:

  • the month in progress is the last month charged — nothing further is ever billed;
  • any months paid in advance that have not yet begun are refunded in full;
  • a student who withdraws before the Programme begins in September pays nothing at all.

A worked example: a student who withdraws on 10 November pays November's £40 and nothing more; if December onwards had already been paid, that money comes back in full. A student who withdraws in the summer term having already entered the examinations — say on 10 June, before sitting — pays June's £40, and the £50 examination fee comes back in full.

7. If the College cancels the Programme

If the College cancels or can no longer deliver the Programme, the Student Protection Plan applies: every month not yet begun is refunded in full, the month in progress is refunded pro rata for sessions not delivered, any examination fee paid is refunded in full, and the student is offered the choice set out there. The choice is the student's alone. The same full refund of the examination fee applies whenever the College cancels the examination sitting itself.

8. Missed sessions

No refund is made for absence alone — a missed evening, a holiday, a busy month. Where illness or another serious cause interrupts a student's studies, the extenuating-circumstances provisions of the Assessment Regulations apply, and such cases are treated generously.

9. How refunds are paid

Refunds are paid by bank transfer, using the same means of payment you used unless you expressly agree otherwise, and never with a fee. Cooling-off refunds are made within 14 days of your telling us, as the law requires. Every other refund — on withdrawal, suspension or cancellation — is paid within 14 days of the withdrawal or event taking effect, and sooner where the College can.

10. If paying becomes difficult

The College handles money troubles with dignity, and the first step is always a conversation, not a letter. A family in difficulty should speak to the Programme Lead early: payment dates can be moved and plans re-set by agreement, quietly and without fuss. The standing commitments are these:

  • no student — and never a child — is turned away from class mid-month over money;
  • arrears never affect a student's assessment, marks or treatment in class, and teaching staff are not told who is behind;
  • for a student under 18, money is discussed with the parents only, never with the student;
  • the College charges no interest and no late fees, discloses no student's debt to any third party, and never refers a debt to a collection agency.

11. Price certainty and VAT

The fees stated at enrolment — tuition of £40 a month, £440 for the year, and the £50 examination fee: £490 for the year including the Diploma examination, plus books — do not increase during the year. No VAT is charged on College fees; every amount in this policy is a total price.

12. Responsibilities

A student or parent unhappy with a decision under this policy may use the Complaints and Academic Appeals Policy, which is heard by Shaykh ʿAbd al-Ḥaqq at-Turkmānī, Academic Lead and co-founder of the College, who is independent of the teaching of this Programme.

  • Programme Lead — owns this policy, agrees payment plans, decides refunds, and reviews the policy before the Programme opens and then annually.
  • College administration — collects fees, issues receipts and confirmations, and pays refunds within the time limits above.
