This sheet gives you, in plain English, the information the law says you must have before you enrol — the pre-contract information required by the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. Read it before you sign anything or pay anything. It takes about five minutes. Keep it.

1. Who you are dealing with

International Islamic College, Leicester ("the College") — an independent college founded in October 2025, TBCLEGAL-FORM-TBC — state the College's legal form, e.g. 'a company limited by guarantee, registered in England and Wales, no. …'. These are the only contact details for the Programme; please use them for every question, payment matter, cancellation or complaint.

Classes are held at Masjid Fida (Al-Furqan Islamic Daʿwah Association), 9 Osmaston Road, Leicester LE5 5JN. The masjid is the venue partner only. Your contract is with the College, which is solely responsible for the Programme, its teaching, your money, your data and the award.

2. What the Programme is

A one-year evening programme in the foundations of Islamic knowledge for brothers and sisters aged 16 or over on 1 September 2026 — there is no upper age limit. The teacher for every strand is Ustādh Emran Ahmed, the Programme Lead and founder of the College.

Over the year you study ʿaqīdah (al-Uṣūl ath-Thalāthah and its sister creed texts), fiqh through al-Fiqh al-Muyassar (the King Fahd Complex's fiqh of worship, every ruling with its evidence), the Forty of an-Nawawī memorised, the abridged Tafsīr Ibn Kathīr on Juzʾ ʿAmma, Arabic to a defined "Arabic Level 1 · Foundation" (Madinah Book 1 with an introduction to al-Ājurrūmiyyah), and six Leadership Labs ending in a capstone community evening. Entry: you must be able to read the Qur'an fluently in Arabic script, and every applicant has a short conversation with the teacher before a place is confirmed. There are no other entry qualifications.

Seating and delivery arrangements follow the masjid's practice, and the sessions on personal fiqh are taught separately to brothers and sisters.

3. When and where

• Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, 8.00–9.00pm, at Masjid Fida.
• Monday 21 September 2026 to Friday 16 July 2027: 32 teaching weeks plus a four-week Ramaḍān Circle (one session a week; day and time announced in January).
• 100 contact hours in all. Teaching is in person; there is no online delivery (the Student Protection and Continuity Plan allows a temporary online stopgap only if the venue is lost).

4. The work involved — be realistic before you enrol

Alongside the three evenings a week, a serious student needs 45–60 minutes of directed study a day (mainly memorisation and review), completes one short written assignment a week, and writes one structured essay of 800–1,200 words each term. We expect 90 per cent attendance. Please weigh this honestly against school, university or work before enrolling.

5. How you are assessed, and what you receive

Assessment across the year: tasmīʿ (reciting the memorised texts) 20% · termly examinations 25% · Arabic Level 1 examinations 20% · written coursework 15% · portfolio 10% · attendance and conduct 10%. Grades: Distinction 80%+, Merit 65%+, Pass 50%+; the memorisation component must be passed in every case. A paper missed through illness is sat within a fortnight.

The award is the Foundation Diploma in Islamic Studies at Pass, Merit or Distinction, naming the texts completed and the Arabic level reached, with a Ḥāfiẓ al-Mutūn endorsement for full memorisation. The ceremony is in the week of 12 July 2027.

Entering the summer examinations is your choice. Sitting the summer examination series — the third-term papers and the Arabic Level 1 written and oral examinations — is optional, but the Diploma is awarded only to students who sit and pass it. Entry is made in the summer term and costs £50 — which, with the £440 tuition, makes up the £490 full-year price set out in section 6. A student who chooses not to enter receives a transcript of the year's study and marks, not the Diploma. The Ḥāfiẓ al-Mutūn endorsement rests on recitation alone and does not depend on entering the examinations: it appears on the certificate of a student awarded the Diploma, and is recorded on the transcript of a student who does not enter.

The Foundation Diploma is the College's own award. The College is independent: the award is not a regulated qualification, is not accredited, and carries no university credit.

6. What it costs

£490 for the year including the Diploma examination, plus books. That is made up of:

• Tuition — £440, paid as £40 a month for the eleven months September 2026 to July 2027 inclusive.
• End-of-year examination fee — £50, paid in the summer term when you enter the summer examination series. Entering is optional (section 5), but the Diploma is awarded only to students who sit and pass the examinations. The fee is refunded in full if you withdraw before sitting, or if the College cancels the sitting. A student who does not enter receives a transcript of the year's study and marks, not the Diploma.
• Books — the only other cost: the class book bundle is charged separately at cost, with no mark-up; price TBCTBC — announced before the Programme starts. You may buy the titles independently instead — the list is in the Syllabus (§12).
• There is no enrolment or registration fee, no deposit, and no charge of any kind beyond tuition, the examination fee and the books.
• How to pay: TBCTBC — bank standing order expected; the College never takes card details by phone.

7. Changing your mind — your 14-day cooling-off right

You may cancel your enrolment within 14 days of the day after the day the contract is made, without giving any reason. Just tell us clearly — an email to info@theiic.uk is enough; a model cancellation form comes with the Terms and Conditions of Enrolment, and you may use it but do not have to. We refund everything you have paid, no later than 14 days after you tell us.

One point to understand. The Programme starts on Monday 21 September 2026. If you enrol close to, or after, that date, the teaching would begin inside your cooling-off period — and we only begin teaching you within that period if you expressly ask us to, in writing, when you enrol. If you make that request and then cancel within the 14 days, you pay a fair share of the price for the teaching delivered up to the day you cancel, and nothing more.

8. Leaving later — and if we cancel

Because billing is monthly, a student who withdraws after the cooling-off period owes nothing beyond the month in progress, and any months paid in advance that have not yet begun are refunded in full. If the College cancels the Programme, you are billed no further, refunded pro rata for anything paid for teaching not delivered, and refunded in full any examination fee you have paid.

9. Students aged 16 and 17

Under-18s enrol only with written parental consent, and parents of under-18s are told of every absence.

10. Complaints and appeals

Complaints about the Programme or the teacher, and academic appeals (on procedural grounds — scholarly and academic judgement itself is not appealable), go to Shaykh ʿAbd al-Ḥaqq at-Turkmānī, Academic Lead and co-founder of the College, who is independent of the teaching of this Programme. Contact him through info@theiic.uk. Complaining never disadvantages a student's marks or award.

11. Your data

The College is the data controller for your information. Nothing goes to the masjid beyond what safety requires. Details are in the College's Privacy Notice.

12. The full policies

This sheet is a summary. The contract itself is the Terms and Conditions of Enrolment, which — with the fees and refunds, safeguarding, assessment, complaints and privacy documents of this policy suite — is given to every applicant before the contract is made and before any money is taken, and is available at any time from info@theiic.uk. The contract is governed by the law of England and Wales, and nothing in it affects your statutory rights.
