The Muwaṭṭaʾ of Imām Mālik · Dawrah

Enrolment terms

Version 2026-10-01

These terms form part of your enrolment in the dawrah. Read them before paying; by paying you confirm that you have read and accepted them.

1. The price

No fee is taken for the teaching, and the masjid is open to everyone for the samāʿ without registration. Registration is for those who want the ijāzah in the Muwaṭṭaʾ or the dawrah certificate.

The price is made of the registration and platform fee, the books that are read, the meals on the days of attendance at the masjid, and the framed certificate or ijāzah, at cost; each package's breakdown is shown on the dawrah page and on the enrolment form. The package is one whole: no component can be removed or substituted, and the price is not reduced by declining the meals or the books.

The stay at Masjid Fida and breakfast are free for in-person registrants.

In-person registration closes on 6 December, and online registration on 13 December 2026.

2. Paying in parts

The price may be paid in full at registration, or in three parts: the first at registration, the second on 1 November and the last on 1 December 2026. Registrations from 25 October are in two parts (at registration and on 1 December); registrations from 20 November are paid in full.

The card is saved with the first part and each later part is charged to it on its due date. Remaining parts may be paid early from the student portal.

All parts are due, and registering in parts is a commitment to the full price. If a part cannot be charged it is retried and the student is notified; if it remains unpaid, access to the portal lessons and the certificate or ijāzah are withheld until it is paid.

3. Refunds and transfers

The price is non-refundable, and so are any parts already paid.

Enrolment may be transferred to another named person until 10 December 2026 by emailing the College at info@theiic.uk from the address used to enrol, giving the name, email address and date of birth of the person it is transferred to. That person must meet the same enrolment conditions, and any remaining parts pass to them.

A full refund is made only if the College cancels the dawrah, in which case it is returned to the original payment method. The College does not cover travel or accommodation costs in the event of cancellation.

4. The ijāzah

The ijāzah in the Muwaṭṭaʾ is for those who register for the samāʿ and attend the whole samāʿ in person, with attendance recorded on the attendance card at every sitting. It is not granted to those who hear online, to anyone who misses part of the book, or to anyone who attends without registering.

The ijāzahs are announced at the khatm on Sunday 27 December 2026; the granting of the ijāzah rests with the mashāyikh.

5. The certificate

The dawrah certificate is the International Islamic College's own certificate, written to the Level 4 descriptors of the UK Framework for Higher Education Qualifications (FHEQ Level 4) as an internal standard of the College. It is not a regulated qualification and is not accredited by any official body.

The certificate is awarded to those who attend the lessons and sit and pass the examinations on Friday 25 December 2026 (or the online examination, for stream students).

6. The student portal

Every registrant receives a College portal account at registration, with a set-password link sent by email. The portal carries updates about the dawrah and the samāʿ, receipts, and the remaining parts to pay; dawrah students, in person and online, find each day's lessons there for revision.

The portal lessons are for registered dawrah students only; they may not be published, and accounts may not be shared.

7. Conduct

Students keep the adab of the masjid and of seeking knowledge: arriving on time, silence during the samāʿ except to correct the reading, phones put away, and respect for the mashāyikh, for those present and for the masjid's rules.

The College may end the enrolment of anyone who breaches this or harms others, without refund.

8. Your data

Your data is used to administer your enrolment and to contact you about the dawrah. It is seen by the programme team at the College; the mashāyikh see the names of those present on the samāʿ register. Data is not sold and is not shared with any third party other than the payment provider (Stripe) and the email service used to send the dawrah's messages.

For those paying in parts, the payment provider (Stripe) stores the card details to charge each part on its date; the College never sees the card details.

Enrolment and payment records are kept for six years for accounting purposes and then deleted. Evidence files uploaded with an enrolment are deleted after the dawrah ends.
