Readers wanted for the Muwaṭṭaʾ samāʿ
The whole Muwaṭṭaʾ, in the riwāyah of Yaḥyā ibn Yaḥyā al-Laythī, is read aloud before the mashāyikh over two weekends: Friday 18 to Sunday 20, and Saturday 26 to Sunday 27 December 2026, in Leicester. We are looking for serious students of knowledge to take turns reading.
Who we are looking for
- Serious students of knowledge with strong Arabic and real practice in reading ḥadīth texts aloud: correct vocalisation, the names of the narrators, a steady pace.
- Present for the entire dawrah, all five samāʿ days. A reader cannot miss a sitting.
- This is not a paid role. It is for those seeking the ijāzah.
- Sixteen or over, as for enrolment. Brothers and sisters may apply.
What happens next
- We contact you before the dawrah by phone, WhatsApp or email.
- We may ask you to read a passage so we can hear you before confirming.
- Readers must also complete the normal student registration. Applying here does not enrol you.
